He is an Ecuadorian documentary director and producer focused on human rights, and social and environmental justice. 

He has been involved with social organizations and national and regional networks that support social causes through film and communications.

Across his career, he has worked on a wide range of creative projects as a director and producer, including short films, documentaries, campaigns, and audio pieces.

 

His film Carmela and the Walkers received the Grand Jury Special Mention at Sheffield DocFest in the UK in 2025.  Esteban is currently co-directing and co-producing his second documentary feature film, Fabián.

He holds a Master's degree in Social Documentary Film from the School of Visual Arts of New York.
